My ride got off work at 8 so I'm sorry but I missed Course of Ruin but from what I heard they were a good punk band.... As I entered the club, One Hit Wonder was playing "Floorlord" and I was pissed that they were already on stage.... I immediately ran up to the front of the stage, wading through the mass of humanity there. The first three rows of people in front of the stage were all girls and I assumed that they were there to see either RxB or JFC cause they were all seemed like they were all "ska" people cause they were sitting there jumpin around like One Hit Wonder was a ska band... That made me smile and One Hit Wonder was finishing up their set with a tribute song to Todd Barnes from TSOL who died not too long ago.
After a little break RxB took the stage starting off with "What If." It seems like a pretty good portion of the crowd was there for RxB and they really had the place energized... At first I was content in the back but I just had to go up there to feel what everyone else was feeling. They started off playing a lot of their fast energetic stuff but they kinda slowed it down at the end, and they played mostly old stuff from because their first record: Those Damn Bandits, is now officially out of print. They played: Secret Agent Man, Bandaid, This Time, Wrong With Me, Ten Seconds Never Seemed So Long, Gun In Your Hand, Andrea, Cornered and Milk. They did make me mad by not playing Teen Idol even though I was sitting there screaming at Rich to play it and I was tempted to give them a really bad review for not playing it but I guess I have to respect their talent and they better play it next time.
Okay so after being mad I was ready to skank to the poppy ska sound of JFC. They haven't played a local show in quite a while so I guess it was kinda special for them to play again. They played She's So Cool, Dream Girl, Feliz Navidad, 12 (but she looks 13), Georgia Peach, and some other stuff new and old. Everytime I tried to skank though a whole bunch of these stupid big dumb jock like guys started doing stupid stuff and trying to pit... Pit for JFC?!?!?! What the hell is that all about... My opinion is that these guys were the jock rejects and that they couldn't handle a real pit so they think they can kick the crap out of the rudies... Well to them they get my middle finger in fact they can get both of them flashed at them... Well I still did get to skank so I was happy but in the end I just couldn't take it and started to fight back against em, sorry for following the crowd but they were really annoying me.
It was an okay show could've been longer but hey that's how it goes. Some guy from the crowd traded shoes with Noah from RxB during their set. And during JFC's set they pulled up two girls who's birthday it was and sang her happy birthday awwww how sweet. When JFC broke out with "I Want it That Way" during 12 I cracked up and even started singing along, I can't believe I know the words.....
One last thing sorry if I offended anyone with my generilazation of the "jocks" but I dunno it's just too easy to be mad at them... I do have "jock" friends so I have nothing personal against them....
