I went to this show with my friends Jessica and Lindsay, and we got there at 6:30. We were in front of the RxB "tour bus" and Noah jumped into it and just sat there in the driver's seat, with Chris in the very back holding some drum cymbols. The Hawaiian hula girl was still hanging from the mirror. We got in before most of the other people because we had tickets through Ticketmaster. We secured a spot on the railing near the door, which would be perfect for taking pictures during the band's sets. We basically sat there for the entire show, normally I would never have done that, but I was really really sick and I think if I had stood up I would have passed out or something.
Course of Ruin was the first band on, and they played about 30 minutes of your basic punk rock. I thought they were good, but nothing too special. The crowd was semi into them, but they did get a good response.
Next was Nitro's One Hit Wonder and I really liked them. They played more of a harder punk style, and everyone was really into them, the pit was going crazy. We saw our friend Jay out there during their set, he appeared to be having a good time.
Finally it was time for the Rx Bandits. It was obvious they were the band that most of the people there came to see. They came on and started right into "What If", and everyone sang along. Matt (their singer) looked like he was having a great time, and their sax player Noah announced that the crowd totally cheered him up because he had been in a shitty mood. Rich (trombone) was obviously enjoying himself, playing guitar on his trombone and dancing all over the stage. They played about 45 minutes of their super catchy ska/punk, and they played a lot of old stuff. They also announced that their first album, "Those Damn Bandits", is now officially OUT OF PRINT! Wow. They played a lot of old stuff ("Secret Agent Man", "Milk", "Bandaid"), a song my friend Jessica had requested "This Time", "Wrong With Me", "Ten Seconds Never Seemed So Long", "Gun in Your Hand", "Cornered", "Andrea", and some stuff off their new split EP with Slow Gherkin.
JFC was next and a lot of people had left before they came on. They kept telling a story about how one of the guys had received a blow job from a girl who had actually turned out to be a guy ("you didn't notice that Adam's apple did you!?"). They played an assortment of stuff including "12 (but she looks 13)", "Milk", and "Dream Girl".
